emporia va reckless driving speeding ticket traffic attorneys
Emporia VA Traffic Lawyers
The Code of Virginia classifies various offenses such as reckless driving, aggressive driving, driving on a suspended or revoked license, or habitual offender, to name a few, as serious misdemeanor criminal offenses and require skilled representation. In fact, a motorist can be convicted of Reckless Driving for speeding as little as 11 miles per hour over the limit if the speed allegation is 81 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour speed zone. A conviction for any traffic misdemeanor can severely jeopardize your freedom, your career, and your driving record.
If you have been arrested or charged with one of these allegations or any other criminal or traffic offense, then you need an accomplished Emporia VA Traffic Lawyer. Many of these criminal traffic offenses are punishable as follows:
o Maximum fine of $2,500
o 12 months in jail
o Suspension or Revocation of driving privileges of up to 6 months or more
o Assessment of DMV demerit points
o Increased automobile insurance premiums

DISCLAIMER: Case Results Depend ON A Variety OF Factors Unique TO Each Case AND DO NOT Guarantee OR Predict A Similar Result IN ANY Future Case
Riley & Wells traffic attorneys represented a client from Vienna VA for reckless driving speeding 97 mph on Interstate 95 in Emporia VA. Our client was a 59 year old DC professional driving a shiny brand new Ford Mustang around daybreak on his way to a long overdue vacation to Florida. At about the worst time possible, our client decided to “open up” the Mustang and “punched it” for a few seconds. Unfortunately, a Police Officer was operating stationary RADAR at the exact same location and exact same time as our client and gathered evidence of speeds of 97 miles per hour. At trial, the Police Officer was present in court and his evidence was sufficient, but Riley & Wells Attorneys had arguments prepared in advance that were going to ideally convince the Judge not to find our client guilty of a misdemeanor criminal offense for a momentary lapse of bad judgment. The Court agreed with our arguments and found our client not guilty of reckless driving and reduced the case to the traffic infraction of speeding only imposing a minor fine.
